6 Building Physics / Building Chemistry
Section 6 "Building Physics / Building Chemistry" deals with different aspects of physical or chemical processes or applications in the frame of rehabilitation and preservation of heritage constractions or renovation and retrofit of existing buildings. Current topics include:
Modeling of heat and moisture transfer processes in building envelope components and whole buildings including subsequent ageing and weathering mechanisms. Development and application of non destructive measurement methods to determine onsite moisture distributions.
Determination of hygrothermal material characteristics
Climate and climate stabilization in historic buildings
- Interior insulation of existing constructions
- Drilling resistance measurments
